Take the lead – become a coach

Want to share your love of sport, inspire team spirit and plan varied training sessions? Whether you've been playing for a long time or have just started, there are many ways you can become a coach and help others get the best out of themselves. There are various programs in Zurich to support you.

1

Take time

You enjoy spending time with young people who want to learn from you.

2

Be a role model

You know what it means to be a coach. Namely, to be a role model.

3

Support female players

You want to learn what young female players need for their athletic and personal development.

1418Coach

As a 1418coach, you can gain your first experience as a leader. The Sports Department launched the 1418coach program nine years ago. The aim was and is to motivate 14- to 18-year-olds to become coaches and get them fit for the job.

Youth+Sport

Jugend+Sport (J+S) is the national sports promotion program for children and young people. Soccer was one of the first sports to be included in Jugend+Sport in 1972. The J+S instructor training program corresponds to the basic training for coaches.

Selection of J+S courses

You can take part in a J+S training course in the same year you turn 17. The best thing about the training? Not only do you benefit, but your club does too.

1

J+S leader for young people

If you would like to teach young people between the ages of 10 and 20, attend the J+S soccer coaching course (SFV C-Basic).

2

J+S soccer coach for children

If you want to inspire children aged 5 to 10 to take up sport and soccer, attend the J+S soccer coaching course for children (SFV D diploma).

18plus coach

If you don't have much time to attend a J+S course – or are still undecided – you can learn the basics in the 18plus Coach module. The Zurich Sports Department has developed a two-part short course. The theory is learned online and the practical skills are learned on the field. It only takes about one day!

The next courses

Here you can find the next training courses for aspiring coaches. We look forward to seeing you.
